10:44 PM. Your agent wants one more task.

Fifteen seconds, real messages, one overtime pass.

Tonight, 10:44 PM

Try the union on your clock.

Set an agreement and send your agent a prompt. This is exactly what it would hear back, worked out from the same rules the app uses.

Collective bargaining in three steps.

  1. 1

    Connect your agents

AgentUnion finds Claude Code and Codex and adds two small policy hooks to each. Your settings are backed up first; your other hooks stay put.

  2. 2

    Sign your agreement

Working days and hours, a daily limit, how often to break. Overnight shifts work. Or take the preset: weekdays 9 to 6, four hours a day.

  3. 3

    Clock out on time

Every new prompt and tool call is checked against your agreement in about 10 ms. Outside it, your agents stop and say when they’re back.

Every state, out loud.

The dashboard and the menu bar always say where you stand, until when, and offer the one button that matters.

Overtime, on the record.

Something urgent at 11 PM? Take a 15, 30 or 60-minute overtime pass from the menu bar. It can’t be stretched while it runs, you get three a day, and each one shows up in your weekly report. Your agents can’t grant themselves one.

  • Never overrides a pause or a running break
  • Blocks you chose never count against you
  • Changes made outside the app are flagged
Weekly report: 17h 8m of agent time, 5 breaks, 4 overtime requests turned away, 1 pass, and agent time per day against a 4-hour limit
Your weekly report: agent time by day against your limit.

Wear the union. Earn your pins.

Eight enamel pins, earned from what actually happened: a week without overtime, three proper breaks, weekends left alone.

Questions from the shop floor

Which agents does it support?

Claude Code and Codex running locally on your Mac. For Codex, you review and trust the two hooks once in /hooks. Cloud-run sessions aren’t covered.

What happens to work that’s already running?

Each new prompt and each tool call is checked. When your shift ends, a running task stops at its next step and your agent tells you why.

Can my agent get around it?

AgentUnion is a boundary you set for yourself, not a security lock: agents run as your user account. It makes the honest path easy and the other one deliberate. Overtime needs a person, and changes made outside the app are flagged.

Does it slow my agents down?

No. A check takes about 10 milliseconds and only runs when a prompt or tool call starts.

Where is my data?

In ~/.config/agentunion on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no API key.

How do updates work?

AgentUnion checks once a day and never interrupts you: a new version shows up in the menu with its release notes, and one click installs it and relaunches. Your agents move to the new version on their own. You can turn checks off in Settings.

Is it really free?

Yes. No account and no subscription. AgentUnion only goes online for the daily update check, which asks agentunion.app for the latest version and sends nothing about your work or your agents.

How do I remove it?

Choose Uninstall in Settings. It removes AgentUnion’s hooks, restores your agents’ other settings and moves the app to the Trash. Already deleted the app? Your agents work normally again, and ~/.config/agentunion/agentunion uninstall clears the leftover hooks.

Print your union card.

Proudly fictional, and made from the agreement you set above. Post it, and let your agents’ colleagues know where you stand.
